Crafting workshops

Felt and cardboard fox puppets

I recently got asked to read some of my books in libraries for World Book Day. What a fun time it was. I mainly read from Chilli and Pickles Out Fox the Fox and Chilli and Pickles and the Lost Lamb. Everyone came dressed up as their favourite characters. Even I dressed up as a fox. I am hoping to be able to add some more photos shortly, but for now here are some pictures of the crafting puppets and masks we created.

The preparation trays made ready for each child

There were thirty children for the first fox reading and crafting workshop. After listening to the story and suggesting other ideas to help Chilli and Pickles stop the scheming fox (and there were some great ideas) everyone got a crafting tray. Each contained different pieces of felt and cardboard to stick together along with lollypop and glue sticks.

A crafting workshop also followed my reading Chilli and Pickles and the Lost Lamb. Once again everyone was given their own prepared tray, this time with pieces of cotton wool added to the other items. The sheep are easier and less fiddly to make compared with the foxes and are suitable for younger children.

The last workshop of the day made fox masks out of felt and cardboard and also offered colouring pictures from the book. Pictures to print out can also be found on the character page of this website, so do take advantage of this. https://tanyajpage.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/CP-2.pdf
