Colouring

There’s a simple activity that helps children to develop cognitively, psychologically and creatively: it’s called colouring. Children love to colour in pictures and draw. I know I did as a child. It inspires them to be creative and use their imagination which is why I have added some pictures of Victoria and her friends to download, print & colour in.

Colouring Sheets

The colouring sheets can be found on the character page of the website and range from simple to more complex to cater for a range of ages, abilities and styles. They can be filled in with paint, crayon, pencil, bits of paper or material, in fact using pretty much anything you can imagine. Be as creative as you can. It’s fun to see how many different ways a picture can be created. Maybe Victoria will wear yellow dungarees one day or maybe have purple fur. Maybe Hamlet will wear an orange spotted jacket and Gerald will be blue. There is no end to the lengths your imagination can go and there is no right or wrong.

Creativity

The freedom to be creative and inspired is a wonderful thing. There’s nothing better than watching a child fully engrossed in what they are doing.

Colouring Benefits

The act of colouring can help to improve motor skills in young children strengthening the muscles in their hands, prepare them for school, help with colours and coordination, improve focus and patience. It is a great way for children to express themselves, but also, more importantly is FUN!
